Lyrik is a modern/contemporary dance company. The company was the vision of Kristina Santos, her love for dance and her desire to bring emotion to the stage are the force that brought Lyrik to life. The dancers of Lyrik all believe in connecting with the viewers on an emotional level that is brought to reality through dance and movement. Each dancer brings their own unique style and together they intertwine and tell a story for the audience. Every dancer for Lyrik has one thing in common, their passion and love for dance and their desire to share it with the world.

Kristina started her obsession with the world of dance at 22 years old. After a month of 24 hour fitness dance classes and a couple weeks at Vega Dance Lab Kristina joined her first company called Sauce. Sauce was a sassy Hip Hop/jazz company. Sauce was directed by Evie Grahm, the owner of Vega Dance Lab. Through sauce Kristina gained the confidence and skills to become a dancer. Soon after, Kristina started teaching a Hip Hop cabaret class at Vega. After six months of dancing for Vega Kristina auditioned for a Hip hop company called "the Detail" ran by Durante Lambert. Kristina spent 2 1/2 years dancing for the Detail. Through the Detail Kristina experienced how hard dancers could really push themselves and what hard work and practice can achieve. Kristina then started dancing for the Portland Trailblazers Jam Squad. Through Blazers Kristina got to dance at 14 games and many Blazer events. There Kristina formed close friendships and conifdence. Soon after she joined Unseen Hip Hop company ran by Josh Burns. She still dances for Unseen Hip Hop company as well as Lyrik. Kristina briefly danced for a contemporary dance company called Pivot ran by Maria Kroll. After brushing up on some needed technique classes and experiencing the world of contemporary Kristina fell in love with contemporary dance. And most recently her addiction to contemporary dance has led to her starting Lyrik. She wanted to give dancers the oppourtunity to perform and express themselves through dance. To Kristina dance is lifestyle. Being a dancer means loving it, breathing it, and needing it to survive. Kristina thanks all of her dancers for being the amazing dancers they are and for all the dedication that they give to her.
